Paris, Day 2

May 27, 2012 ... Paris, Day 2

Our second day there we decided to find the catacombs and go through them.
Unfortunately, they were closed that day.
So we had some lunch at the Indiana Cafe before moving on.

Next stop ... Nortre Dame.  YAY!

Sorry, this picture wouldn't rotate for me.

The gargoyles

Where's Caleb at?

The entryway for Notre Dame.

This window took my breath away.

Outside of Notre Dame was a band.  Just playing right on the sidewalk, they were pretty good too!

This is actually the back side of Notre Dame ... kind of hard to believe isn't it?

Next stop ... La Sainte Chapelle

This is definitely worth the 8 Euros to get in.  The upstairs is covered completely in stained glass.

Next stop ... The Lourve
We didn't go that day but we lounged a bit by the fountains and took some pictures.

Ann had a little trouble getting up there! HAHA!

Again ... where is Caleb?

Walking along the gardens outside of the Lourve, they were massive!

Ice Cream Break!

Now ... Champs-Élysées
We walked the entire thing, all the way to the Arc de Triomphe

The line was massive to go up under the Arc so we chose to continue to the other side and found place to eat some dinner.  We walked past a Harley store but sadly, they were closed.

After dinner we made our way to the Sacré-Cœur Basilica

An amazing view of Paris from the stairs at the top.

What another adventurous day in Paris.
So far we have been able to see everything we have wanted to.  We are going to try the catacombs in a couple of days.  We went back to our hostel and collapsed.  We did so much walking, I think about 12 miles according to Ann's pedometer.  Craziness!
